Nan Roach was born in New York, and raised in Berkeley, California. She
received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the California College of Arts
and Crafts in 1984. She then spent two years traveling solo around the
world. Carola received her Masters of Fine Arts in Glass Sculpture from
Tulane University in 1990. She then taught at Tulane for a year and at
The New Orleans School of Glass Works the following year. .. In 1993 she moved back to California to live in the mountains at Lake Tahoe. Two years later she moved to downtown Los Angeles to be part of the Santa Fe Art colony. In 1996 Carola started teaching at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where she taught for the following six years. At the same time she created a glass production business which wholesaled art around the country. ..In 2001 Carola moved back to the peace and beauty of the mountains, again to the west shore of Lake Tahoe, this time focusing on the painting of large abstract landscapes and trying to capture the essence of the light and beauty of the High Sierra. In October 2006 Carola moved her studio to Reno, Nevada, where she loves the quality of the light in the high desert. ..Carola Nan Roach has shown her art work extensively nationwide and has had several international showings as well. |
